This filter is designed to fit Kenmore uprights using a HEPA filter (86889). Kenmore uprights are actually manufactured by Panasonic for Sears, so this filter will fit all Panasonic uprights using a HEPA filter also. This HEPA filter is imperative for homes with allergies are breathing issues. The acronym HEPA stands for "High Efficiency Particulate Air". These advanced filters are a very important upgrade on today's vacuum cleaners, as they force air through microscopic screens, capturing even the smallest of particles such as dust mites, pollen, animal dander, and even most bacteria. After 1 year of usage (average homes, more sensitive homes should replace more often the once a year) these microscopic screens become blocked with the particles, which forces your vacuum's motor to work harder and harder to force the air through the filter. The more often you replace these filters, the longer the vacuum will last. The filter measures; 6"L x 3.85"W x .5"H.

Summary: Best Deal? 2007-09-13
Comment: Pay $34.34 (includes 3 filters & shipping) that comes out to be $11.45 per filter. This is the same product if you were to go to Sears and I saved 8.25% on the Los Angeles sales tax. Unless someone else finds a better deal, I'm sticking to this one.
