Able to clean up both wet spills and dry dirt, this cordless hand vacuum is perfect for the house, car, boat, or motor home. Two speeds provide extra suction power when it's needed. It mounts conveniently in its recharging base either on a wall or on a horizontal surface--or the charging base doesn't need to be mounted at all, and the vacuum can be moved from place to place attached to the base. A crevice tool for hard-to-reach areas and a squeegee for wet spills store in the vacuum. The bagless vacuum has a transparent dirt cup with a filter that snaps off the power housing for emptying. The filter is Black & Decker's improved double-action type, which has three times the surface of previous DustBuster filters. It's washable and replaceable. Equipped with a 4.8-volt battery, the vacuum runs 10 minutes without needing recharging. It measures 16 inches long and 4-3/4 inches wide and carries a two-year warranty against defects. Comment: I like the vacuum well enough but it's been a headache to find a filter replacement. You can call 888-678-7278 to buy them at $2.30 ea. plus $7.95 s/h + tax. They'll let you buy as many filters for the same shipping charge.

Summary: Product Number for Replacement Filters - The Search is Over 2005-12-30
Comment: Like many of the other comments, I have found it challenging to find the proper replacement filters for my Black and Decker 4.8 volt wet/dry handheld vac (model # CWV4830). I called Black and Decker and received the following part number 499739-00. Although I ordered the filters directly through Black and Decker (only 2.19/filter), I went to google, did a search on the item number and found several matches. Although I have not received the product yet, I do know they are the right filters because I saw a picture of them on another (more expensive) website.

Summary: Replacement filters ARE difficult to find 2005-06-15
Comment: I've searched online using Google and checked with local stores, but can't find a replacement filter that looks like the one that came with the unit. One online source shipped me a filter that they said was a replacement -- wrong again! I'm going to keep searching, but it shouldn't be this difficult to get a simple part (Black & Decker's website is no help at all). If it weren't for the filter problem I'd rate this 4 or 5 stars; it's a good little unit for picking up small messes.

Comment: Picks up stuff better than expected. Not sure if the reviews on the batteries are really and issue as far as type and life, but finding replacement filters and batteries is as simple as searching on Google. Ever try that before running your mouths?
