- This is the generic washable filter for the Dyson DC17 models only.
- This will fit both Dyson DC17 Animal, as well as the Dyson DC17 Asthma and Allergy models.
- This filter is located directly underneath of the dust bin when it has been removed from the vacuum.
- You can find the filter by finding where the air is being exhausted. This filter should be replaced at least every 3 months. If you notice that your Dyson has lost some of the suction since you've had it, cleaning the filter should be the first place to start.

This is the washable filter for the Dyson DC17 models only. This will fit both Dyson DC17 Animal, as well as the Dyson DC17 Asthma and Allergy models. Summary: Dyson filter review 2010-06-29
Comment: Product is identical to the one that came with my Dyson; however, when taking it out to clean & dry, it's not a good idea to place it where it'll get picked up with the trash!!! Have no problems with it at all! Should last a lifetime, right?!!

Comment: I bought this because when I cleaned my filter the door just didn't want to close right again so thought I needed a new filter. This one seems alot stiffer and less flexible than the original and although it does fit, the door closes even worse than before. Contacted dyson and they sent me a new door but still doesn't close right. Guess I just have to clean it more often

Comment: It's a shame that Dyson doesn't include a spare filter with the purchase of a vacuum. The filter is washable but who realizes their filter needs washed until they are using the vacuum. Since you have to allow ample time for the filter to dry you really need to have 2 filters. A new, clean filter allows your machine to vacuum just like new.
