Summary: Works as promised 2007-11-23
Comment: I ran the planer w/o a dust hood, cleaned up, then tried to make my own. I finally went ahead and purchased this one, and it works as promised. Another Grizzly product which is reasonably priced and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Recommended, especially if you are tired of cleaning up wood shavings from the planer!

Summary: Grizzly could NOT possibly have made this hood. 2007-06-09
Comment: Compared to other Grizzly designed products, this hood falls well short of the mark in terms of finish, but especially FIT. When the hood arrived, it appeared as a piece of thin grade metal, shaped into a tube and painted with black enamel. Instructions were a Zeroxed line drawing. And when I actually attached the hood to the planer, I felt like I had just got taken for one more add on purchase.
I'll be designing my own.
And I'll paint it Grizzly green.

Summary: Good Equipment 2007-02-21
Comment: I have several Grizzly power tools, and they are all very satisfactory. The Grizzly company is also good folks to deal with. A Band Saw I ordered from them was damaged in shipment, and Grizzly replaced the damaged parts quickly with no hassle at all !!!

Comment: I wondered how much I'd have to clean up after using the Grizzly planar----very little once I attached the hood and My small vacuuming system.
